Are You Living On Purpose (Issue 8)

ARE YOU LIVING ON PURPOSE (ISSUE 8)

I met a lady recently. Her eyes were simply

amazing. They had a sparkle in them that could

light a football field. These are the kind of

eyes that you look at and are simply in awe of.

Like a moth to a flame, they are irresistible.

So, why did I share that with you in an ezine

about living on purpose?

Because, she was not living her purpose. She did

that because she was told all her life by other

people that it was not OK to be who she was. She

was told to back off. She was told to “tone it down”.

Her energy was too strong for people to handle.

As a direct result, she held herself back. She

put the dimmer switch on and turned down her

amazing glow.

The sad part is that she listened to those

people. I didn’t ask her directly, but my

guess is that she did that to avoid criticism

and to fit in, to be accepted, to be loved.

I know that one very well. I lived that lie/life

for a very, very long time.

I was afraid to be the real me. I was afraid

to be who I was for fear that I wouldn’t be

accepted… that I wouldn’t be wanted. The thought

of that was way too painful, so I sold out. I

began to be what others wanted me to be and

although I was not ostracized, I wasn’t happy.

In fact, I was deeply miserable, resentful and

angry.

I gave up the one thing that I could truly call

my own. That one thing was ME. I gave up being

me so that I could be someone that I didn’t like

in order to be accepted by people that I didn’t

even care for. Very ironic isn’t it.

I gave up being me and didn’t like who I was.

In fact, I didn’t know who I was because I was

a chameleon, changing color with every new

circumstance and or group I came across.

I was terribly lonely. Yet, I was powerless

to stop it because if I became the real me,

I risked losing the illusion of acceptance.

Not being accepted was far too painful. So,

I kept playing the game at all costs. And I

never broke that cycle of insanity.

Now, I share that with you to make the point

that to live on purpose, YOU HAVE TO… AND

I REPEAT… HAVE TO BE YOURSELF. You have to

be your true self. You have to be real. You

have to be. There is no other way around it.

Let me tell you from direct experience. Fitting

in is a bunch of nonsense. It is ridiculous,

unfulfilling, undesirable and a complete waste

of time. It sucks the life out of you. It drains

you because it’s so much harder to be who you’re

not than to be who you are.

The point is…

Why would you want to be anyone else but the

magical, magnificent, miracle called you?

Living on purpose is really easy when you’re

being yourself. It’s natural. It’s light. It’s

free. It’s fun. It’s truly beautiful.

So, BE THE REAL YOU. Be

proud. Show the world who you really are. The

people that don’t need to be in your life when

you make that transition will naturally go away.

You will soon meet new friends, develop awesome

and powerful relationships and experience greater

happiness, satisfaction and excitement than ever.

So, what do you say? Will the real YOU

please show up, be seen and be heard?

So, that’s it for this issue my friend. May you be

blessed beyond belief and may all of your dreams

and your success come true. And may everything you

wish for be the least that you get.

Until next issue…

To your success,
