Are You Living On Purpose (Issue 9)
Are You Living On Purpose (Issue 9)
In the last issue, we talked about
being the real you because that’s
the only way you can truly live on
purpose. I shared that many people
(including myself) for much of their
lives settle and become less than
they could be in order to fit in. I
also said that was and is ridiculous
and a waste of time because your life
and your happiness is far more important.
On to this issue.
If you’re not living the life you want
to live, what are you waiting for?
Whose purpose are you living if it’s
not your own? As my sweetie pie, Ajanel
says, “Why would you want to play a bit
part in someone else’s movie when you
can be the STAR of your own movie?”
All it may take is a little permission.
Some people have been put down so
much that they don’t believe in
themselves or their dreams anymore.
They don’t believe they can be successful.
They don’t believe they deserve to win.
They don’t believe they are winners.
Their inner critic takes over and says,
“Who do you think you are? You’re not
cut out for this. Stop wasting your
time. You’ve failed at everything else.
What makes you think this will be any different?”
That voice wants to protect you from the pain
it thinks you’re inevitably going to experience.
Ironically, that voice is trying to help you.
But like any overbearing, overprotective person,
your inner critic stifles you and sucks the
energy out of you. It prevents you from taking
the risks in which you might fail, so you don’t
experience the pain of failure.
Of course, that’s ironic as well. Because the
very thing you fear (failure) is the very thing
that you get by default by not going for whatever
you desire.
So, what do you do about it?
1. Give yourself permission to succeed
or fail and make it be OK… NO MATTER WHAT.
If you fail, so what? It doesn’t mean anything.
At least you gave it a shot.
2. Make a decision that you’re going to do something
different toward living your purpose. Maybe it is
just to meditate or pray about it for 15 minutes
a day until you reach are living on purpose.
3. Commit fully to getting to the place where you
just decided to get to. It’s 100% or nothing.
An 80% commitment has no power.
4. Take the appropriate, quick and focused action
to achieve what you want. The Universe Loves Speed.
Oftentimes the quicker you take action, the better.
Things start lining up. Synchronistic things start
occurring.
5. Celebrate your success in a big way. You deserve
a reward.
6. Repeat steps 1-5.
